Society PTT Privacy Policy
Effective date: 6 May 2026
Society PTT is a push-to-talk and society operations app for residential societies. This policy explains what information the app uses and why.
Information we collect
- Account and society details such as society code, flat number, role, login ID, and language/theme preferences.
- Device details needed for notifications, including Firebase Cloud Messaging tokens and basic device labels.
- Push-to-talk session data such as channel membership, floor-control events, and audio metadata needed to operate live calls.
- Live microphone audio when a user actively presses the talk control. Audio is transmitted for real-time communication and is not stored by the app backend.
- Security-register information entered by authorised society staff, such as visitor, parcel, delivery, flat label, status, and verification-code details.
- Operational logs and audit events for security, abuse prevention, troubleshooting, and administration.
How we use information
- To authenticate users and keep society access limited to approved residents, admins, and security staff.
- To provide push-to-talk channels, live audio delivery, security-call alerts, and visitor or parcel notifications.
- To help society admins manage flats, members, meetings, channel access, and security-register records.
- To maintain safety, prevent misuse, debug issues, and improve reliability.
Sharing
Information is shared only as needed to provide the service to the relevant society users and administrators, or with service providers used to operate the app. These providers may include hosting, database, notification, real-time messaging, and crash-reporting services.
Microphone and notifications
Microphone access is used only when the user starts a push-to-talk session. Notification permission is used for security calls, resident updates, and relevant society alerts.
Data retention
Account, audit, security-register, and operational records are retained as needed for society administration, security, legal, and troubleshooting purposes. Local app sessions can be removed by signing out.
Children
Society PTT is intended for residential society operations and is not directed to children.
